Support the “Genetically Engineered Food Labeling Act” in the New Mexico Legislature.
State Senator John Grubesic (D), Santa Fe, has introduced Senate Bill 906.
The purpose of the Genetically Engineered Food Labeling Act is to create and enforce the fundamental right of people in the state to know if they are buying or eating genetically engineered food and to have the choice in buying or eating food that has been altered through genetic engineering.
Senate Bill 906 will give you the ability to decide if you want to consume food that has been genetically modified. Polls show that over 90% of Americans would like to know if their food has been modified. This bill will provide the information needed to make informed decisions about your diet.
Please call or email your legislators to ask them to support Senate Bill 906.
